My First Workout!

January 1, 2010: Well, I did the workout today and now I really know what a couch potato I am! The lunges were pretty easy probably because I have a full flight of stairs to my bedroom; the pullovers were next and with only a 4 pound dumbbell they were not bad either; the two types of rows are not too difficult in these low numbers and there is a slight difference between the two (Oh, and my error, since you do these simultaneously it is 20 per side for both types); the squats, all three types were a sight to behold! My balance is terrible and my middle is too thick to do them comfortably - but I did them! Loved the bridges - lying down flat on the floor with my knees bent gave me a little break! The protect your knees workout is the only one I will increase in number for tomorrow and the body firmer is complicated and took me a while to do correctly. I am sure this one is good because it requires so much balance and probably the more deliberately you do it the better. I had to read all of them on the computer while I was doing them and was glad no one was around to watch me. I spent about 30 minutes doing them and I can't tell you how happy I am that I have started! I was sweaty and shaky when I finished but oh so pleased...

For tomorrow I can going to do the same routine except that I will do 6 sets of the items in "protect your knees". Especially since about two weeks ago my right knee started cracking so loudly with every step I take a person walking with me can hear it! Doesn't really hurt but can't be a good sign.
